Xx Chapter Three xX


It was now Thursday. K and L would be leaving New York on Saturday, and K made it a point to visit America's apartment every single day since they arrived there.

L smiled weakly as K ran up to knock on Alfred's door. She was beginning to wonder if telling her the secret of the countries was such a good idea…

K was surprised to see not her 'boyfriend', but a somewhat shorter young man with bright green eyes and thick eyebrows.

"Hey! Where's my Alfred!?" she exclaimed rather rudely. The other man rolled his eyes. "Oh. I know who you are. He's told ALL about you." he turned around and shouted to the other nation. "Alfred! That K girl's here!" "Huh? Oh! COMING~!"

That childlike voice was enough to force K back to her cheerful demeanor. Suddenly, she was shoved aside by L.

"U-um, Arthur? I d-didn't know you were h-here…" L mumbled, blushing furiously. Before she could say anything else, she was forcefully pushed away by K.  America strolled out before any catfight could emerge.

"Oh yeah, I wanted to introduce ya to someone!" he chirped. K's eyes sparkled with delight, as she continued to use her natural charm to impress the young nation. "Oh really? I'm not sure if L told me about him yet." she answered.

The green-eyed, thick-browed man she yelled at earlier stepped out again, as if on cue. "This is England, but his 'human name' is Arthur!" Alfred explained. "C'mon Iggy, why don't ya say hello?"

England huffed and turned away. "Hmph. Good morning, K. Now, I personally believe it was rather foolish of L to reveal our secret like this."

L, who was standing further away from the crowd, sighed and shook her head. Whenever Arthur acted like such a grump, she couldn't help but find it somewhat…cute.

"Anyways, there's this awesome chocolate place nearby!" Alfred said. "And I kinda wanted to, uh, y'know have a date…o-or somethin!" he continued, blushing. K squealed and grabbed onto his arm. "Sure thing! Let's go right now!"

L's eyes widened. "Chocolate place?" she walked over to where America and K were standing in front of the door to his apartment room. She gulped. "Um…A-arthur, do you want to come to?"

He rolled his eyes yet again. "Sure…I just don't want to be left here to fend for myself, that's all."

"3 pieces of chunky fudge and an ice cream sandwich, please!"

"I want a chocolate banana."

"Um…I'll have 2 sugar cookies, please…"

"I'll have a cup of tea."

Alfred and K sat at one table, and L and Arthur sat at another. As she sat down next to England, L shivered slightly. "Uh, m-maybe I should have brought a jacket!" she stuttered. Arthur apparently didn't hear and continued to sip his tea.

L looked down and groaned. If there was one thing she was genuinely jealous about, it was K's flirting skills. She took a bite of her cookie and looked over at the other two. "Y'know, I though K didn't like bananas that much…OH. NO."

"Well, y'know K, it's not every day I really go out on a date, I mean with our secret and everything…" Alfred continued to ramble as he stuffed his face with his snacks. "Uh, K? Are you OK?" he asked. "Nnnn? Mmm…nmmm…mmm…this banana's sooooo good…" K licked her chocolate sauce covered lips and winked.

Alfred giggled nervously. "Ah man, I should've gotten a chocolate banana too. I'm still hungry!"

The four returned to the apartment complex later that day. A satisfied smirk was plastered across K's face as she stayed by America's side. L, on the other hand, walked far behind the group, ashamed for attempting to get England to notice her in 'that' way.

What did K have that she didn't?

"Well, I'll be seeing you tomorrow, Al~" "I'll be lookin' forward to it, K!"

L simply stared at blank walls of the apartment, completely tuned out. She gasped when she felt someone tapping on her shoulder. "S-sorry I was just…"

"I enjoyed our outing today." Arthur smiled and scratched the back of his head. "Even if that git was the one who suggested it…" he chuckled slightly, looking over at Alfred and K.
